PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall girls take first, boys third at Mankato East

MANKATO — The Marshall boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Mankato East Invite on Tuesday, with the girls team taking first with a team score of 37 while the boys team took third with a team score of 79.

On the girls side, Bellamy Sukalski took third with a time of 19:16.3 while Allyson Sample took fifth with a time of 19:21.5, Miracle Tucker took eighth with a time of 19:48, Taleigha Bigler took 10th with a time of 20:02.7, Katelyn Leibfried took 11th with a time of 20:04.7, Brooklyn Mauch took 18th with a time of 20:36.7 and Gracelyn Foster took 30th with a time of 21:20.1.

On the boys side, Sam Deutz took eighth with a time of 17:17.3 while Ethan Bly took 12th with a time of 17:29.4, Keagen Anderson took 14th with a time of 17:32.5, Hudson Dieken took 17th with a time of 17:39.9, Daniel Olin took 28th with a time of 17:59.7, Chase Werner took 35th with a time of 18:17.7 and Kohen Holcomb took 36th with a time of 18:24.3.

Marshall will compete next Tuesday in the Big South Conference Championships in Pipestone at 4 p.m.

Volleyball

Minneota 3, TMB 0

TRACY — The No. 2-ranked Minneota volleyball team defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-21) on Tuesday.

Natalee Rolbiecki led Minneota with 15 kills while Ella Johnson added 11 and Abby Frie had eight. Lyzah Sussner led in digs with 21 while McKenna Yost added 15 and Rolbiecki had 12. Yost led in set assists with 27 while Ireland Stassen added 10.

Camille Dolan led TMB with nine kills while Sheridan Ludeman added eight. Maddi Langerock led in digs with 13 while Kamryn Petersen added 11 and Margaret Dolan and Kiarra Danielson each had nine. Langerock also led in set assists with 25.

Minneota (20-3) will face Canby on the road Thursday at 7:15 p.m. while TMB (15-7) will face Lakeview on the road on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East volleyball team defeated Lakeview 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-12) on Tuesday.

Ruby Bones led YME with 17 kills while Yansi Flores added eight and Lexi Smith had seven. Kiara Sakry led in digs with 17 while Flores added 13, Smith had 11 and Aria Peters had 10. Peters also led in set assists with 36.

Bradlyn Gniffke led Lakeview with nine kills while Erin Meyer added four and Olivia Hinz had three. Korysa Herrick led in digs with seven while Meyer added five and Grace Rausch led in set assists with nine.

YME (7-12) will face Ortonville at home next Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. while Lakeview (5-21) will face Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at home on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Monday cross country

CMCS Invite

RAYMOND — Multiple area cross country teams competed in the Central Minnesota Christian Invite on Monday. On the boys side, Canby/Minneota took first with a team score of 19 while Yellow Medicine East recorded an incomplete team score. On the girls side, Canby/Minneota took first with a team score of 15 while Wabasso took second with a score of 51 and YME recorded an incomplete team score.

Boys

For Canby/Minneota, Kolton Duis took first with a time of 17:28 while Zach Ourada took second with a time of 17:34 and Blake Giese took third with a time of 18:34. Blake Stoks (19:05), Michael Tol (19:09), Tristan Bierschenk (19:25), Colton Ruether (19:39), Hunter Danielson (19:44), Sam Skorczewski (19:47) and Caleb Danielson (20:07) took the seventh through 13th spots, respectively.

For YME, Ean Clarke took 17th with a time of 21:35 and Dylan Castillo took 18th with a time of 21:42.

Girls

For Canby/Minneota, Claire Stoks took first with a time of 20:01 while Braelyn Merritt took second with a time of 20:17, Hannah Vlaminck took fifth with a time of 22:57, Nohemi Diaz took eighth with a time of 23:00 and Sadie Vlaminck took ninth with a time of 23:04. Hannah Fadness took 11th with a time of 24:03 while Natalie Stoks took 14th with a time of 25:01 and Lillie Wollum took 15th with a time of 25:02.

For Wabasso, Allison Parker took 12th with a time of 24:34 while Jocelyn Jenniges took 13th with a time of 24:45, Addison Jensen took 17th with a time of 25:27, Annabelle Struntz took 18th with a time of 25:40, Katie Erickson took 19th with a time of 28:07 and Shayna Huhnerkoch took 20th with a time of 28:14.

For YME, Anjeli Pullan took fourth with a time of 22:42 while Sanjana Pullan took 10th with a time of 23:58 and Bella Anderson took 21st with a time of 28:25.
