SMSU GOLF: SMSU sits in fifth place following round one in Bemidji
BEMIDJI — The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s golf team opened its 2021 fall season on Monday shooting a 57-over-par 345 and is currently in fifth place at the nine-team Bemidji State Tracy Lane Memorial Tournament. The two-day, 36-hole event is being played at the par 72 Bemidji Town and Country Club.
SMSU’s Lauryn Driscoll is tied for 10th overall in the 57-player field with a team-best 11-over 83. Jacqueline Gossen and Danielle Podoll both shot rounds of 15-over 87 and are tied for 23rd. Sally Gallagher and Natalie Bohnert rounded out the SMSU team scoring with rounds of 16-over 88 and are tied for 27th. Sydney Noel played as an individual and shot a 24-over 96.
Molly Stevens from Augustana is the round one leader following a 4-over 76. Augustana and Minnesota State are tied for the team lead with a score of 35-over 323.
The final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. today.
