PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: RRC takes down Cedar Mountain in sweep

LAMBERTON — The Red Rock Central volleyball team defeated Cedar Mountain 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-16) on Monday.

Karli Arkell led RRC with 30 kills while Lilly Stavnes led in digs with 28 while Josie Horning added 13 and Emily DeCock had 11. Nora Hemmingsen led in set assists with 20 while DeCock added 12.

RRC (4-0) will face Murray County Central on the road on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Ayiana Hastad and Kate Dahl led DB with 14 kills each while Hayley Anderson added eight. Alivia Haas and Dahl led in digs with 15 each while Chelsie Husby added nine and Husby led in set assists with 34.

DB (2-4) will face Yellow Medicine East today on the road at 7:15 p.m.

LAMBERTON — The Red Rock Central football team defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 38-28 on Saturday.

Mason Strom led RRC with 238 rushing yards on 28 carries and four touchdowns while Isaac Simonson completed 16 of his 26 pass attempts for 172 yards and two scores. Vander Mathiowetz led in receiving with four catches for 57 yards and a touchdown while Zak Zimmerman added four receptions for 38 yards and Joseph Strock had three catches for 32 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Keaton Skarupa led with eight total tackles.

RRC (1-1) will face Renville County West at home next Friday at 7 p.m.

MONTEVIDEO — The Wabasso volleyball team placed fourth in the Montevideo tournament on Saturday.

Wabasso placed second in pool play by splitting its matches against Ashby (21-25, 25-23) and Montevideo (19-25, 25-18) before defeating Lakeview in two sets (25-21, 25-22). In the third-place match against BOLD, Wabasso fell in two sets (19-25, 14-25).

Avery Carlson led Wabasso with 20 total kills while Kelsey Frank added 19 and Ashlyn Daub had 17. Audrey Johnson led in digs with 39 total while Frank added 19 and Daub had 17 and Carlson led in set assists with 28 total while Frank added 27.

Wabasso will face Springfield on the road on Thursday at 7 p.m.

RTR 13

COTTONWOOD — The Lakeview football team defeated Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 28-13 on Friday.

Greg Schafer led Lakeview with 125 rushing yards on nine carries and two touchdowns while Clayton Kosel added 124 yards on the ground on 17 carries. Owen Louwagie completed seven of his 12 pass attempts for 69 yards and a score while Koltin Mulder led in receiving with two catches for 32 yards and Kosel added two receptions for 12 yards and a score.

Defensively, Kosel and Justin Timm led with eight total tackles each.

No RTR stats were available at press time.

Lakeview (2-0) will face MACCRAY on the road next Friday at 7 p.m. while RTR (1-1) will face Canby at home next Friday at 7 p.m.

DB 34, Canby 0

CANBY — The Dawson-Boyd football team defeated Canby 34-0 on Friday.

Holt Larson led DB with 109 rushing yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns while Brayden Hahn completed seven of his 14 pass attempts for 126 yards and a score and added three carries for 11 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Caleb Torke led in receiving with two catches for 57 yards and a touchdown while Aiden Swenson added three receptions for 43 yards.

Defensively, Braxton Hahn led with six total tackles while Codie Johnson added five.

Ty Stoks led Canby with 110 rushing yards on 14 carries while Easton Antony completed seven of his 17 pass attempts for 45 yards and added five carries for 18 yards on the ground. Rylee Sigler led in receiving with two catches for 23 yards while Dylan Houseman added two receptions for 22 yards.

Defensively, Isaac Guza led with 12 total tackles.

DB (2-0) will face YME at home next Friday at 7 p.m. while Canby (1-1) will face RTR on the road next Friday at 7 p.m.

WWG 46,

GHEC/Truman 20

TRUMAN — The Westbrook-Walnut Grove football team defeated GHEC/Truman 46-20 on Friday.

Brady Ross threw for 357 yards and two touchdowns while David Lee added 149 rushing yards and three scores. Cole VanDeWiele led in receiving with six catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns while Cole Curry added five receptions for 129 yards and a score and Dan Kleven had three catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Kleven led with 11 total tackles while Lee added 10.

WWG (1-1) will face BLHS next Friday at 7 p.m.

TMB 41, A/E 0

ADRIAN — The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton football team defeated Adrian/Ellsworth 41-0 on Friday.

Noah Swenhaugen completed 11 of his 15 pass attempts for 177 yards and three touchdowns while Julius Williams added seven carries for 69 yards and a score on the ground. Christian Wendland led in receiving with five catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, Caden Johnson and Caden Anderson led with 5.5 total tackles each.

TMB (2-0) will face MCC at home next Friday at 7 p.m.
