TRAP SHOOTING: Marshall shooting team earns numerous season awards, finish in top 3 at state

MARSHALL — The Marshall shooting team recently earned multiple season awards as well as placed in the top 3 at the state meet in several events.

Season awards

In trap shooting, in Conference 4A-4, the team placed third in the conference. KayLynn Sieber was the High Overall for the state as well as High Overall Female and first place female in the conference while Derek Holmgren was the first place male in the conference.

In skeet shooting, in Conference 2A-1, the team placed second in the conference. Sieber earned first place female in the conference while Lindsey Olson earned third place female in the conference.

In 5-stand shooting, the team placed first in the conference. Sieber was the High Overall for the state as well as High Female for the state and first place female in the conference. Brock Schultz was the High Overall Male for the state and first place male in the conference while Holmgren was second place male in the conference.

In sporting clays shooting, the team placed first in the conference. Schultz was the High Overall for the state, High Overall Male for the state and first place male in the conference while Holmgren was third place male in the conference. Sieber was the High Overall Female for the state and first place female in the conference.

State

At the 4A state conference trap tournament in Alexandria, Sieber was first place in female varsity while Julia Callens was second place in junior varsity.

In the 5-stand state tournament, the team earned first place. Schultz was the High Overall for the tournament and the first place male, while Holmgren was second place male and Alex Castor was third place male. Sieber was the first place female.

At the 2A state skeet tournament, the team earned third place. Sieber was first place female varsity while Lillian Bursell was second place Novice.

At the state sporting clays tournament, the team earned second place, with Sieber getting first place female.
