LUVERNE — The Marshall Junior Legion Black baseball team defeated Luverne 15-5 on Monday.

Coby Brownlee led Marshall with three hits and four RBI while Ezra Maurice and Talan Plante each had two hits and two RBI, Andrew Wallen had two hits, Gavin Peterson had two hits and an RBI and Zach Leibfried had a hit and two RBI.

Wallen earned the victory on the mound, going four innings while allowing five runs on five hits and struck out five.

Marshall Black (8-2) will face Pipestone at home on Thursday at 6 p.m.

RTR 10, Minneota 1

RUTHTON — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Legion baseball team defeated Minneota Legion 10-1 on Monday.

Payton Hess led RTR with two hits and five RBI while Kyle Fischer added two hits and an RBI and Aiden Wichmann and Logan Lamote each had a hit and an RBI.

Cody Wichmann earned the victory on the mound, going seven innings while allowing one run and no hits and struck out 15.

AJ Myhre took the loss on the mound for Minneota, going three innings while allowing eight runs on four hits and struck out two.
