CLASS A GOLF: Climbing the leaderboards

Area golfers wrap up at state meet in Becker with strong play

BECKER — Eleven area golfers wrapped up their seasons and for some, their careers, at the final round of the Class A meet at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.

Girls

On the girls side, Dawson-Boyd’s Ella Mork fired a second-round 91 for a two-day total of 183 (92-91) and finished tied for 11th. Her teammates, Rachael Lund and Elly Stratmoen, also showed improvements between Day 1 and Day 2. Lund shot an 88 in the second round for a two-day total of 186 (98-88) and finished tied for 18th while Stratmoen had a 101 in the final round for a two-day total of 214 (113-101) and finished tied for 58th.

Minneota’s Lauren Bowyer had a second-round 95 for a two-day total of 186 (91-95) and finished tied for 18th. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s Shae O’Leary had a 99 in the final round for a two-day total of 195 (96-99) and finished in 37th place.

Boys

On the boys side, Canby’s Jake Wagner fired a second-round 78 for a two-day total of 158 (80-78) and finished tied for 19th. Lakeview’s Carson Boe had a two-shot improvement between rounds as well, shooting a 79 on Day 2 for a two-day total of 160 (81-79) and finished tied for 22nd.

Dawson-Boyd’s Collin Swedzinski shot an 88 in the second round for a two-day total of 167 (79-88) and finished tied for 31st. Wabasso’s Will Carlson had a 93 in the second round for a two-day total of 176 (83-93) and finished in 55th place.

RTR’s Chase Christensen had a 97 in the second round for a two-day total of 186 (89-97) and finished tied for 66th. Murray County Central’s Dawson Tutt had a 93 in the second round for a two-day total of 193 (100-93) and finished in 77th place.
