SMSU TRACK AND FIELD: SMSU’s Manteuffel captures NCAA All-American honors in the discus

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Southwest Minnesota State University senior Rebecca Manteuffel earned All-American honors on Friday afternoon placing eighth in the discus at the NCAA Division II Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.
Manteuffel, competing in her third NCAA Outdoor Championship in the discus, finished with a mark of 46.91m. She advanced to the nine-person finals with a 46.30m mark on her second toss of the day. On her first throw of the finals, she went 46.91m and followed with throws of 43.33m and 44.78m.
Zada Swoops of West Texas A&M won the discus individual title at 53.49m.
Manteuffel was also an All-American in the discus at the 2019 NCAA Championship with an eighth-place finish. She also competed at the 2018 NCAA Championship and placed 18th overall.
Manteuffel will have another chance to earn All-American honors today competing in the shot put at 4 p.m. She finished 21st in the shot put at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
