PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: TMB softball earns pair of victories over RTR

TYLER — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton softball team dropped a pair of games to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Tuesday, falling in game one 9-1 and 11-10 in game two.

In the first game, for RTR, Kya Alderson, Cora Alderson and Whitney Bruns each had a hit. Kya Alderson took the loss in the circle, going seven innings while allowing nine runs on six hits and struck out three.

For TMB, Kamryn Peterson, Camille Dolan, Mady Swan, Emma Edwards, Danika Radke and Haily Gernentz led with a hit each while Megan Surprenant, Jadyn Lessman and Grace Dolan each had an RBI. Swan earned the victory in the circle, going seven innings while allowing one run on three hits and struck out seven.

In the second game, for RTR, Cora Alderson led with two hits and two RBI while Kya Alderson and Sara Hartson each added two hits and an RBI and Kiley Griesse had a hit and an RBI.

Kya Alderson took the loss in the circle, going 6 1/3 innings while allowing 11 runs on 11 hits and struck out seven.

For TMB, Peterson led with three hits and two RBI while Surprenant added two hits and three RBI and Camille Dolan had two hits and two RBI and Swan had two hits. Swan also earned the victory in the circle, going 5 2/3 innings while allowing three runs on six hits and struck out three.

TMB (4-1) will face Lakeview at home on Thursday in a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. while RTR (1-3) will face MACCRAY at home on Thursday in a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m.

YME 4, RTR 1

GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East baseball team defeated Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 4-1 on Tuesday.

Cole Fischer led YME with two hits and two RBI while Nikson Knapper and Tyler Nordaune each added a hit.

Ty Schulte earned the win on the mound, going seven innings while allowing one run on four hits and struck out four.

Corbyn Sitzmann led RTR with a hit and an RBI while Cody Wichmann, Hayden Gravley and Sam Nibbe each added a hit.

Aiden Wichmann took the loss on the mound, going four innings while allowing two runs on three hits and struck out eight.

YME (3-2) will face Canby on the road on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. while RTR (5-1) will face RCW on Thursday at home at 4:30 p.m.
