SMSU GOLF: SMSU places 18th in Missouri
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s golf team concluded play on Tuesday in the final round of the Missouri Western State University Classic shooting a 74-over-par 362 for the second straight day and finished 18th overall with a final score of 148-over 724. The 36-hole tournament was played at St. Joseph Country Club.
Central Oklahoma won the team title with a 61-over 637, finishing 11 strokes ahead of second place Northeastern State (72-over, 648). Yasmin Hang from Northeastern State earned medalist honors with a final score of 9-over 153.
Hannah Kohls recorded SMSU’s lowest score on Tuesday with a 15-over 87 and finished tied for 63rd overall (89-87–176). Kohls had one birdie, four pars and 10 bogeys on Tuesday. Lauryn Driscoll also tied for 63rd (87-89–176) after shooting a 17-over 89 on Tuesday with one birdie, seven pars and six bogeys.
Sally Gallagher tied for 77th overall (90-92–182) with five pars and eight bogeys in the final round. Anneke Weg finished 88th (96-94–190), while Jacqueline Gossen was two strokes behind finishing 89th (98-94–192).
Southwest Minnesota State will return to action on Thursday, April 8, at the Marshall Golf Club taking on Minnesota State in day one of the Mustang/Maverick Dual. The two teams will continue the dual match on Friday, April 9, at the Mankato Golf Club.
