MARSHALL -- The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team returns to action on Monday and Tuesday competing at the 36-hole Missouri Western State University Invite at St. Joseph Country Club.
Monday's opening round begins with a shotgun start at 11 a.m., while Tuesday's play starts at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Nearly 20 teams are expected to play in the tournament.
SMSU is coming off a first-place finish at the seven-team College of the Ozarks Invite on March 15-16 with a score of 694 (360-334).
Sophomore Sally Gallagher led SMSU with a second-place finish in the 41-player field with a 25-over 167 (87-80). Senior Hannah Kohls finished tied for third with a 26-over 168 (83-85).
Following play on Tuesday, SMSU will face Minnesota State in a two-day dual on April 8-9. The first day of the dual will take place at the Marshall Golf Club, while the second will be played at the Mankato Golf Club.
