ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team returned to action on Monday shooting a 74-over-par 362 and is in 17th place following the first round of the 18-team Missouri Western State University Classic played at a windy par-72 St. Joseph Country Club.
Central Oklahoma is the first-round leader with a 34-over 322 and holds a six-shot lead over Northeastern State. Sydney Roberts from Central Oklahoma and Yasmin Hang from Northeastern State are tied atop the leaderboard with scores of 4-over 76.
Lauryn Driscoll shot SMSU's low-round on Monday with a 15-over 87 and is currently tied for 42nd in the 92-player field. She finished the round with seven pars and one birdie.
Hannah Kohls shot a 17-over 89 with four pars and one birdie and is tied for 60th. Sally Gallagher shot an 18-over 90 with two birdies, Anneke Weg carded a 24-over 96, while Jacqueline Gossen finished with a 26-over 98.
The final round begins today at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
