Marshall Squirt B Orange, Pee Wee A record victories, Pee Wee B earns tie

MARSHALL — The Marshall Amateur Hockey Association Squirt B Orange, Pee Wee A and Pee Wee B hockey teams all competed over the weekend, with Squirt B Orange and Pee Wee A going 1-1 and Pee Wee B going 1-0-1.

Squirt B Orange

The MAHA Squirt B Orange team went 1-1 over the weekend, falling to Hutchinson on Saturday before defeating Fairmont on Sunday.

Saturday’s game was a defensive battle for the Tigers. Hutchinson took the lead in the first period, but Chase Renken, with assists from Braylon Oey and Coby Guenther tied it up midway through the period. Hutchinson added a goal in the second and neither team found the net in the third period, giving Marshall the 2-1 loss. Sawyer Bresnahan had 11 saves in the game.

On Sunday, the Tigers held Fairmont to two goals in an 8-2 win. Liam Deutz and Morgan Rokeh each had a pair of goals in the win. Aric Ewald, Alex Reaves, Braylon Oey and Payton DeGroot each added a goal while DeGroot pitched in two assists and Wyatt Dorschner had one. Bresnahan had four saves in the win.

The MAHA Pee Wee A team went 1-1 over the weekend, falling to Hutchinson on Saturday before beating Fairmont on Sunday.

The Tigers’ Easton Larson notched a pair of goals in the 6-2 loss while Xander Oey, Jacob Allen, Easton Greenwood and Nate Drown each had an assist. McCoy Guenther had 23 saves in the loss.

Sunday found Marshall traveling to Fairmont where the Tigers defeated the Cardinals 6-1. Marshall had a balanced attack in the win with Nate Drown, Allen, Oey and Larson each recorded a goal and an assist. Easton Greenwood and Ethan Boeck also scored goals while Koda Peterson and Easton Jiskoot added assists. Carson Becker finished with 25 saves.

The MAHA Pee Wee B team went 1-0-1 over the weekend, tying with Windom on Saturday before falling to Worthington on Sunday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period against the Eagles. Henry Horvath and Riley Pfannschmidt scored for Marshall while Brayden Gratz recorded an assist. Colby Allen made 21 saves in the game.

On Sunday, Worthington jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period. Marshall got on the scoreboard in the second with three goals. Selby Anderson and Salem Frost led the way with a goal and an assist each. Pfannschmidt added the third goal while Horvath, Hayden Guggisberg and Keynan Coequyt came away with assists. Kirby Meulebroeck finished with 19 saves in the loss.
