PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall boys basketball gets tripped up by Waseca, 75-66

WASECA — The Marshall boys basketball team fell to Waseca 75-66 on Tuesday.

Josh Baker led Marshall with 19 points while Chase Douglas added 15 and Bryce Lance had 12. Lance led in rebounds with eight while Douglas led in assists with two.

Marshall (3-1) will host Luverne on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

CMCS 78, TMB 55

PRINSBURG — The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton boys basketball team fell to Central Minnesota Christian 78-55 on Tuesday.

Tony Nelson led TMB with 20 points while Jake Turner added 11 and Trevor Smith had nine. Nelson led in rebounds with seven while Christian Wendland and Noah Swenhaugen led in assists with five each.

TMB (2-2) will face Dawson-Boyd at home on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

LQPV 86, YME 32

MADISON — The Yellow Medicine East boys basketball team fell to Lac qui Parle Valley 86-32 on Tuesday.

Cody Dahlager led YME with 10 points while Preston Berends added nine and Landon Anderson had four. Anderson and Berends led in rebounds with five each while Dahlager led in steals with two.

YME (0-4) will face MACCRAY at home on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Girls basketball

RTR 63, YME 49

GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East girls basketball team fell to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 63-49 on Tuesday.

Ruby Bones led YME with 19 points while Hannah Stark added 15 and Shelby Mortenson had eight. Bones led in rebounds with 12 while Stark and Bones led in assists with four each.

Kalleigh Carr led RTR with 20 points while Ella Hesse added 15 and Haley Muenchow and Faith Thomsen each added eight. Muenchow led in rebounds with eight while Maddison Wendland and Muenchow led in assists with one each.

YME (2-2) will face MACCRAY on the road on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. while RTR (3-0) will face CMCS at home on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Boys basketball

KMS 80, Canby 52

KERKHOVEN — The Canby boys basketball team fell to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 80-52 on Monday.

Will Varcoe led Canby with 13 points while Evan Weber added 12 and Ty Stoks recorded six. Weber, Stoks and Varcoe led in rebounds with six each while Weber led in assists with three.

Canby (1-3) will face LQPV at home on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Girls basketball

WWG 50,

Adrian/Ellsworth 46

ADRIAN — The Westbrook-Walnut Grove girls basketball team defeated Adrian/Ellsworth 50-46 on Monday.

Abby Wiggins led WWG with 16 points while Izzy Klumper added 13 and Olivia Klumper had 10. Olivia Klumper led in rebounds with nine while Kelsey DeSmith and Olivia Klumper led in assists with three each.

WWG (3-1) will host SWC on Thursday at 6 p.m.
