Luverne’s Oye signs with SMSU tennis
MARSHALL — Southwest Minnesota State University head women’s tennis coach Jon Parker announced Tuesday that Rozilyn Oye from Luverne, recently signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and tennis career at SMSU.
Oye is a senior at Luverne High School and played for head coach Jon Beers. A four-year letter winner, Oye was a two-time all-conference honoree and twice was named honorable mention all-conference.
“Roz brings a lot of raw skill and athleticism and it will be exciting to watch her grow into a fine college player.” said Parker. “We are happy to have Roz become a member of the SMSU tennis program.”
An honor roll student and all-state honoree in choir, Oye is a five-year letter winner in hockey and also a four-year letter winner in softball for the Cardinals.
Parker completed his first season at SMSU in the spring of 2020 after being named to the position in January.
