PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall swimming wraps up season at Section 3A meet

WILLMAR -- The Marshall girls swim and dive team wrapped up their season over the weekend at the Section 3A meet, placing ninth with a team score of 91. Delano took first with a score of 479, followed by Hutchinson in second (360) and Orono in third (311.5).

The top 8 finishers in each event earned medals and the top 16 finishers contributed to the team score.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the Marshall team of Mansi Bell, Emma Beavers, Hailey Brandt and Kaylie Stucke took 10th with a time of 1:59.53. In the 200-yard freestyle, Stucke took 14th with a time of 2:06.25 while Alana Condezo took 20th with a time of 2:09.31, Grace Rokeh took 31st (2:20.56) and Paige Milstead took 34th (2:22.37). In the 200-yard individual medley, Maddie Larson took 19th with a time of 2:26.99 while Beavers took 23rd with a time of 2:30.85, Alex Larson took 25th with a time of 2:34.76 and Elizabeth Coudron took 37th with a time of 2:54.10.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Hailey Brandt took 11th with a time of 25.91 seconds while Clara Bader tied for 24th with a time of 27.06 seconds, Autumn Deutz took 36th with a time of 28.46 seconds and Brooklyn Gossen took 39th with a time of 29.25 seconds. In the 1-meter dive, Reagan Brandt took 11th with a score of 258.05 while Bader (224.15) and Gossen (211.25) took 14th and 15th, respectively. In the 100-yard butterfly, Hailey Brandt took 12th with a time of 1:03.35 while Condezo took 21st with a time of 1:06.87, Mansi Bell took 24th with a time of 1:09.43 and Jessica Wyffels took 34th with a time of 1:15.55.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Holly Netzley took 27th with a time of 1:01.02 while Tera Johnson took 31st with a time of 1:03.26, Rokeh took 32nd with a time of 1:03.66 and Coudron took 37th with a time of 1:06.49. In the 500-yard freestyle, Stucke took seventh with a time of 5:37.68 while Alli Kopitski took 14th with a time of 5:45.77, Reagan Brandt took 26th with a time of 6:10.79 and Milstead took 31st with a time of 6:19.47.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Johnson, Condezo, Alex Larson and Bader took 10th with a time of 1:50.25. In the 100-yard backstroke, Mansi Bell took 17th with a time of 1:07.57 while Kopitski took 24th with a time of 1:10.97, Alex Larson took 25th with a time of 1:11.18 and Deutz took 30th with a time of 1:12.23. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Beavers took 16th with a time of 1:12.92 while Maddie Larson took 17th with a time of 1:14.12, Netzley took 25th with a time of 1:19.67 and Johnson took 27th with a time of 1:20.64. Finally, in the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Bader, Condezo, Stucke and Hailey Brandt took eighth with a time of 3:56.92 to round out their times.

Volleyball

RTR 3, DB 0

DAWSON -- The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton volleyball team defeated Dawson-Boyd 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-8) on Saturday.

Abby Carr led the way for RTR with 10 kills while Haley Muenchow added six. Maddi Wendland and Ella Hesse led in digs with nine each while McKinley Schreurs led in set assists with 16.

Karoline and Kate Dahl led the way for DB with four kills each while Ayiana Hastad and Ella Johnson each added three. Tarah Johnson led in digs with 10 while Hastad added seven and Chelsie Husby led in set assists with 13.

RTR (5-0) will face LQPV on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. while DB (0-5) will face TMB on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

LQPV 3, YME 2

MADISON -- The Yellow Medicine East volleyball team fell to Lac qui Parle Valley 3-2 (21-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-22, 8-15) on Saturday.

Alli Steffen led the way for YME with 23 kills while Shelby Mortenson added 10 and Yansi Flores had seven. Kiara Sakry led in digs with 24 while Steffen added 23 and Flores had 19. Aria Peters led in set assists with 44.

YME (2-3) will face RCW on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

TMB 3, KMS 0

KERKHOVEN -- The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton volleyball team defeated Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-23) on Saturday.

Kylie Hensch led the way for TMB with nine kills while Sheridan Ludeman added eight and Camille Dolan recorded six. Margaret Dolan led in digs with 18 while Kiarra Danielson added 12 and Ludeman had 11. Maddi Langerock led in set assists with 26.

TMB (5-0) will face MACCRAY on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Friday football

TMB 45,

Sleepy Eye 6

TRACY -- The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton football team defeated Sleepy Eye 45-6 on Friday.

Ayden Horner led the way for TMB with 192 rushing yards and three touchdowns while Noah Swenhaugen completed nine of his 10 pass attempts for 179 yards and a score. Mekhi Moua added 37 yards on the ground while Swenhaugen had 24 yards rushing and Caden Anderson had 21 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Caden Johnson led TMB with seven total tackles while Nathan Fultz and Matt Munson each added 4.5 total tackles.

TMB (2-1) will face NUC next Friday at 7 p.m.
