Marshall swimming falls to St. Peter, 95-88
ST. PETER — The Marshall girls swimming and diving team faced off against St. Peter for the third time on Thursday to close the regular season. Marshall won the first two matchups against the Saints, but St. Peter was able to avoid the season sweep with a 95-88 victory.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Mansi Bell, Maddie Larson, Hailey Brandt and Kaylie Stucke took second with a time of 2:02.98 while the team of Alex Larson, Holly Netzley, Alli Kopitski and Reagan Brandt took fourth with a time of 2:13.58. In the 200-yard freestyle, Stucke took second with a time of 2:09.29 while Tera Johnson took fourth with a time of 2:18.04 and Alex Larson took sixth with a time of 2:26.36. In the 200-yard individual medley, Hailey Brandt took second with a time of 2:25.49 while Maddie Larson took third with a time of 2:27.68 and Emma Beavers took fourth with a time of 2:32.96.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Clara Bader took first with a time of 27.41 seconds while Alana Condezo took fourth with a time of 28.69 seconds and Autumn Deutz took sixth with a time of 29.64 seconds. In the 1-meter dive, Bader took third with a score of 157.75 while Reagan Brandt took fourth with a score of 144.80 and Brooklyn Gossen took sixth with a score of 132.45. In the 100-yard butterfly, Hailey Brandt took first with a time of 1:04.30 while Condezo took third with a time of 1:08.28 and Mansi Bell took fifth with a time of 1:11.80.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Johnson took fourth with a time of 1:02.90 while Grace Rokeh took fifth with a time of 1:03.57 and Netzley took sixth with a time of 1:04.33. In the 500-yard freestyle, Stucke took second with a time of 5:37.29, followed by Kopitski in third (5:53.88) and Reagan Brandt took fourth with a time of 6:07.54. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Condezo, Beavers, Maddie Larson and Bader took second with a time of 1:51.14 while the team of Deutz, Alex Larson, Rokeh and Johnson took fourth with a time of 1:55.78 and the team of Gossen, Netzley, Paige Milstead and Reagan Brandt took sixth with a time of 2:00.11.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Mansi Bell took second with a time of 1:11.01 while Kopitski took fourth with a time of 1:12.03 and Alex Larson took sixth with a time of 1:14.42. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Beavers took first with a time of 1:16.16 while Maddie Larson took second with a time of 1:16.35 and Netzley took fourth with a time of 1:23.43. Finally, in the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Stucke, Condezo, Bader and Hailey Brandt took first with a time of 4:02.80 while the team of Mansi Bell, Johnson, Beavers and Kopitski took second with a time of 4:18.64 and the team of Jessica Wyffels, Elizabeth Coudron, Deutz and Rokeh took third with a time of 4:36.55 to round out their times.
Marshall will compete next on Oct. 23 and 24 in the section meet in Willmar.
