JACKSON — The Milroy Irish amateur baseball team defeated Jackson 9-5 to advance in the Region 13C tournament on Friday.

Dominic Dolan, Derek Riley and Tyler Peterson all led the way for the Irish with two hits each, with Peterson adding two RBI while Moses Dolan had a hit and two RBI.

Cody Mather earned the victory on the mound, going eight innings while allowing four runs on four hits and struck out nine.

The Irish will face top-seeded Fairmont in the next round and begin their best-of-three series on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Fairmont.
