Marshall Black 17U earns pair of wins to wrap up district tournament

LUVERNE — The Marshall Black 17U baseball team wrapped up its district tournament with a pair of wins over the weekend, defeating Minneota 13-6 and Hadley 8-0 in three innings.

Against Minneota, Kadam Brinkman led the way for Marshall with three hits and an RBI while Preston Hoflock added two hits and two RBI and Zach Allen, Connor Neubeck and Keaton Maertens all had two hits apiece, with Allen also collecting an RBI.

Jacob Eben earned the start, going 3 2/3 innings while allowing five runs on seven hits and struck out two.

Against Hadley, Neubeck, Brinkman and Ethan Brau led the way for Marshall with a hit apiece. Brock Schultz earned the victory on the mound, going three innings while allowing no runs on two hits and struck out two.
