Milroy Irish, Yankees pick up victories

MILROY — The Milroy Irish amateur baseball team continued its winning ways with a 5-3 victory over Pipestone on Sunday.

Dominic Dolan and Anthony Dolan led the way for the Irish with two hits each.

Jack Bly earned the victory on the mound, going seven innings while allowing only one hit and struck out 11. Ben Heichel picked up the save for Milroy.

Milroy will face Hadley on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Wabasso 0

WABASSO — The Milroy Yankees amateur baseball team defeated Wabasso 13-0 in seven innings on Sunday.

Matt Bauer led the way for the Yankees with three hits, including a home run and four RBI while Jackson Hughes and Dylan Criquet-Danielson each added two hits and Zack Felcyn had two RBI.

Isaac Schmitt earned the victory on the mound for Milroy, going six innings while allowing just one hit and struck out seven.

No Wabasso stats were available at press time.

The Yankees will face Granite Falls on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. while Wabasso will face Lamberton on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Adrian 9, Tracy 3

MILROY — The Tracy amateur baseball team fell to Adrian 9-3 on Sunday. The Engineers played on the Milroy Yankees’ field, as the Yankees were in Wabasso on Sunday.

Taylor VanOverbeke and Trevor Parlberg led the way for the Engineers, with VanOverbeke hitting his first amateur home run and Parlberg hitting a triple.

Jake Tauer earned the start on the mound, striking out five.

Tracy will face Hadley on Saturday.

Hancock 1

COTTONWOOD — The Cottonwood amateur baseball team defeated Hancock 3-1 on Saturday.

Jacob Rausch led the way for the Cardinals with three hits. Seth Boerboom earned the complete game win on the mound, going nine innings while allowing just two hits and struck out seven.
