MILROY — The Milroy Irish welcomed a team from across state lines on Friday night, as the Brookings (S.D.) Cubs visited The Irish Yard. The Cubs used a pair of home runs to defeat the Irish 6-3.

Kenny Morris took the mound for Milroy and pitched 6 1/3 innings.

The top hitter for the Irish was Derek Riley, who went 2 for 4. Ben Heichel added a double in the loss.

Milroy will host Luverne on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m.
