SMSU WRESTLING: Pfantz named All-NSIC second team

BURNSVILLE — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced on Wednesday afternoon that Southwest Minnesota State University redshirt freshman wrestler Hunter Pfantz has been named second team All-NSIC.

Pfantz, a 2018 graduate of State Center High School, has amassed a 17-8 record competing at 125 pounds during the 2019-20 season. Pfantz went 4-1 in NSIC duals, earning victories versus UMary, MSU Moorhead, Northern State, and Augustana.

The native of State Center, Iowa, earned five victories by fall and decision, and one by tech fall and major decision.

Pfantz helped lead the Mustangs to a 4-7 overall season and 3-5 in NSIC duals.

Southwest Minnesota State prepares to compete at the NCAA Super Regional V on Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, S.D.
