PREP WRESTLING: Marshall sends five individuals to 9th grade league state tournament, Condezo places second

CHAMPLIN — The Marshall wrestling team sent five individuals to the 9th grade league state individual tournament on Saturday.
Tate Condezo (126-weight class) earned a second-place finish in a tight 4-2 decision to Rocori’s Evan Moscho. Condezo pinned Apple Valley’s Juan Rodriguez in the opening round before picking up a pair of decision victories (7-0 over Chatfield’s Kail Schott and 5-1 over St. Michael-Albertville’s Tyler Zenga) to advance to the championship match.
Joining Condezo at state were Drew Chandler (106-weight class), Lucas Stelter (145-weight class), Tucker Fien (152-weight class) and Kaiden Otto (170-weight class). Chandler and Otto fell in the first round of the consolation bracket while Stelter and Fien fell in the second round of the consolation bracket.
