PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Tigers cruise past Pipestone Area, 75-36

MARSHALL — Entering Friday night, the No. 5-ranked Marshall Tigers were one of just 11 boys basketball teams without a loss in the state of Minnesota and one of two undefeated boys basketball teams remaining in Class AAA.

The Tigers remained unbeaten with a 75-36 win over Pipestone Area.

Noah Puetz led the way for Marshall with a game-high 22 points and four assists.

Yahya Black added 12 points in the win, while Josh Baker finished with 10 points. In total, 12 players scored for the Tigers and the team committed just two turnovers.

Marshall (12-0) will travel to Mankato East today for a key Section 2AAA matchup. East’s only loss this season was to top-ranked DeLaSalle.

Four Panthers finished with double-digit scoring totals, led by Trevor Larson with 12 points.

Tony Nelson added 11 points, while Jake Tauer and Lucas Gervais scored 10 points apiece.

Carter Sneller led YME with 10 points. Kyle Chase added seven points in the loss.

Zach Durfee and Romell Horton provided a 1-2 punch for the Blackjacks, scoring 23 points apiece in the win.

Micah Olson added 12 points for DB.

Alex Saltzer scored a game-high 19 points, while Logan Sussner recorded 15 points and 17 rebounds.

DB (5-3) will travel to Southwest Minnesota Christian today while Minneota (6-6) will host Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Thursday.

Will Carlson scored 30 points to lead the Wabasso offensive attack. Isaac Kronback added 22 points, while Mason Dallenbach finished with 14 points.

Wabasso (3-8) will travel to Red Rock Central today.

Sam Larson scored nine points to lead MCC.

PRINSBURG — The Canby girls basketball team fell to Central Minnesota Christian 50-35 on Thursday.

Charlotte Wright led the way for the Lancers with eight points while Kortney Leppke added six and Ryann Hansen and Morgan Noyes each had five. Aidyn Bruns led in rebounds with five while Camryn Ufkin led in assists with three.

Canby will face Dawson-Boyd on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
