PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall earns second straight shutout victory, defeats Windom Area 6-0

WINDOM — Fresh off a shutout victory victory over Fairmont last week, the Marshall Tigers girls hockey team was able to build off that performance with a 6-0 shutout win against Windom Area on Monday night.

Lexi Moat was perfect in the net for the Tigers, finishing the contest with 19 saves on 19 Windom shots on goal.

Logan Sherman recorded a hat trick to lead Marshall, including two goals in the second period. The Tigers also got goals from Tessa Gannott, Leah Schaefer and Kalyn DeVlieger. Kaitlyn Timm (2), Emmy Barker, Reagan Loft, Shelby Ormberg (2) and Schaefer all recorded assists in the win.

Marshall (11-9-1) will host Waseca on Friday.

Girls basketball

Lakeview 66, HLO/F 31

COTTONWOOD — Lakeview used a dominant first half to defeat Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda 66-31 on Monday.

The Lakers held a 47-15 lead at halftime.

Shelby Gravley led the way for Lakeview with 17 points and 17 rebounds while Aubrey Kaczmarek recorded 17 points and six rebounds.

Savanna Louwagie added 12 points in the win.

Lakeview (12-3) will host Pipestone Area on Tuesday.

Brylea Ruff led the way for YME with 26 points and five rebounds.

Madison Hinz added 16 points in the win, while Yansi Flores finished with 14 points and five assists.

YME (8-5) will host MACCRAY on Thursday.

CANBY — Southwest Minnesota Christian defeated Canby 74-39 on Monday.

The Lancers committed 29 turnovers in the loss.

Will Varcoe led the way for Canby with 13 points and four assists.

Dylan Bruns added nine points and four rebounds for the Lancers.

Canby (2-11) will travel to Dawson-Boyd on Tuesday.
