PREP FOOTBALL: 9-man South All-District West Division team announced

MARSHALL — The 9-man South All-District West Division football team was announced on Monday afternoon, and a few area players made the list.

On the All-District team, Jace Paplow was the lone representative for Westbrook-Walnut Grove. Joining him were Abraham Stoesz, Isaac Grev, Adam Karschnik, Mace Herrig and Brett Willaby (Mountain Lake Area), Jack Howard, Tyler Rice, Jaden Kolker, Brandan Hoberg, Riley Ashburn and Connor Aalderks (Renville County West), Jax Wysong, Gavin Wysong, Zander Wysong and Tyson Bork (Hills-Beaver Creek), Jonathan Mans, Avery Northquest, Ben Radke and Riley Hulke (Nicollet), Nolan Buckridge, Gabe Gilbertson and Mason Gilbertson (Edgerton), Jonah Hansen, Hayden Determan, Mason Irlbeck and Derek Werner (Red Rock Central), Nick Labat, Caleb Schumacher, Jacob Stevens and Trent Steffensmeier (Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s), Zachary Reuber, Dylan Maiers and August Bergstrom (Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart), Carter Spear and Owen Wolter (GHECT), Matt Madsen and Tyler Madison (Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda), Luke Hennis and Ethan Arndt (Madelia) and Cade Schiller (Cedar Mountain).

On the Honorable Mention team, WWG was represented by Gabe Krick and Ethan Mischke. Joining them were Kade Kremmin and Kade Wassman (MLA), Zac Rice and Axel Zaragoza (RCW), Chase Bosch and Tory Knobloch (HBC), Logan Shay and Tyler Laven (Nicollet), Jacob Ockenga and Austin Roskamp (Edgerton), Luke Willhite and Damon Holmen (RRC), Patrick Hoffmann and Kyle Fischer (Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s), Sutton Melberg and Kaden Zanoth (BLHS), Bryant Berhow and Matt Heckman (GHECT), Eli Fest and Zach Thier (HLO/Fulda), Ja’Sean Glover and Ramiro Zamora (Madelia) and Caden Kleinschmidt and Vince Ochs (Cedar Mountain).

Stoesz was named the Offensive Player of the Year while Kolker was named Defensive Player of the Year and Grev was named Lineman of the Year. MLA’s Tim Kirk and RCW’s Ryan Hebrink were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
