SMSU SWIMMING AND DIVING: SMSU opens home season with big win over ILCC

MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota State women’s swimming & diving program hosted its first-ever meet on Saturday earning a 118-33 victory over Iowa Lakes Community College at the Don Palm Natatorium.

SMSU, which dropped to Minnesota State in its first dual of the season on Friday night, had numerous first place finishes on Saturday.

MacKenzie Kallevig won the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 25.75 and also won the 100 yard freestyle in 56.28.

Addi Schroeder picked up a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle hitting the wall at 2:03.97 and was also first place in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:09.64.

Madison Hubert won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.37, while the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Hubert, Kristen Johnston, Ellie Anselment and Schroeder won with a time of 4:09.8.

Southwest Minnesota State returns to the pool this Friday hosting the University of Mary starting at 5 p.m.
