SMSU SWIMMING AND DIVING: SMSU falls in dual to UMary

MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota State women’s swimming and diving team (1-2) hosted its second home meet of the season versus UMary (2-2) on Friday night at the Don Palm Natatorium. The Mustangs fell to the Marauders 194-83.

SMSU finished with several place finishes as MacKenzie Kallevig led the Mustangs in the 100 freestyle race with a time of 54.14.

Megan Nelson won the 1 meter dive with a final score of 202.75.

Annika Freiburger claimed a 200-yard breakstroke victory with a final of 2:30.33.

The Mustangs then finished the meet off in the 400-yard freestyle relay of Gabriela Reis, Freiburger, Addi Schroeder, and Kallevig, as Kallevig led a come-from-behind victory as the anchor for a 3:45.91 finish in the race.

Southwest Minnesota State continue competition at Saint Mary’s in Winona, on Nov. 2 at 1 p.m.
