PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Top-seeded Vikings take out No. 9 LQPV, 3-0

MINNEOTA — The No. 1 seeded Minneota volleyball team opened its Section 3A tournament with a 3-0 victory over No. 9 Lac qui Parle Valley on Friday.

Abby Hennen led the way for the Vikings with 11 kills while Abby Frie added 10 and Abby Rost had seven. Abby Hennen, Natalee Rolbiecki and Morgan Hennen all led in digs with three each while McKenna Yost led in set assists with 24.

Minneota will face No. 4 RTR on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Gabby Harding led the way for the Lancers with 10 kills while Brooke Nelson had eight and Charlotte Wright added seven. Brooke Nelson led in digs with seven while Rachel Harding led in set assists with 17 and Paige Nelson added 12.

Canby will face No. 2N Lakeview on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Haley Muenchow led the way for the Knights with 11 kills while Kylea Baartman added 10 and Abby Carr had nine. Kalleigh Carr and Mckinley Schreurs led in digs with 22 each while Schreurs led in set assists with 33.

RTR will now face No. 1N Minneota on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.

Kelsey DeSmith led the way for the Chargers with eight kills while Madison Dennistoun added seven. Emma Wahl led in digs with 28 while Lexi Herding added 12 and Herding led in set assists with 24.

WWG will now face No. 1S Adrian/Ellsworth on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
