REDWOOD FALLS -- The Marshall girls tennis team defeated Redwood Valley 7-0 on Monday.
At No. 1 singles, Gionna Parsa defeated Redwood Valley's Isabel Hillestad 6-1, 6-2 while Leah Matzner defeated Redwood Valley's Payden Beran 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot. Lexi Moat defeated Redwood Valley's Abby Gilk 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot while Mariah Bergjord defeated Redwood Valley's Kate Foy 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot.
In doubles action, Eden Knudson and Kaia Christensen defeated Redwood Valley's Ashlyn Doering and Kia Jacobson 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 at the No. 1 spot while Regan Loft and Leah Schaefer defeated Redwood Valley's Annika Gibbs and Aubrey Bidinger 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot and Danielle Ewing and Maddy Bednarek defeated Redwood Valley's Sidney Beran and Lexi Day 6-3, 6-1.
Marshall will compete next on Oct. 1 in the Section 2AA team tournament.
