PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Tigers cruise past St. Peter, 41-12
ST. PETER — Marshall used a balanced attack on offense to defeat St. Peter 41-12 on Friday.
Konnor Aufenthie threw for over 200 yards and had three total touchdowns. His favorite target on the night was Bryce Lance who finished with 140 yards and a receiving touchdown while Trey Steinbach also caught a 3-yard touchdown from Aufenthie.
Gabe Raini led the ground attack for Marshall with a pair of rushing scores, while Dean Pochardt also scored on the ground in the win.
Marshall (4-0) hosts New Ulm on Sep. 27.

MINNEOTA — The No. 6-ranked Minneota Vikings football team kept its undefeated season alive with a 42-7 win over Lac qui Parle Valley on Friday.
Cole Sanow led the Vikings rushing attack with 136 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, while adding three receptions for 19 yards and a score.
Minneota also got rushing touchdowns from Blake Reiss, AJ Josephson and Conner Sik in the win, while quarterback Kade Lozinski finished with 137 yards and a touchdown passing.
Minneota (4-0) will travel to Dawson-Boyd on Sep. 27.

GRANITE FALLS — Lakeview defeated Yellow Medicine East 22-8 on Friday.
It was a low-scoring affair formost of the game, as Lakeview held a 7-0 lead entering the fourth quarter. The teams scored a combined 23 points in the last quarter.
Aaron Loe ran for 102 yards and a touchdown to lead the Lakers, while also throwing for 133 yards and a score.
The YME offense didn’t get much doing through the game. Cody Dahlager ran for 67 yards and a score while also throwing for 31 yards.
The Lakers defense recorded two interceptions in the win.
Lakeview (3-1) travels to MACCRAY on Sep. 27, while YME (1-3) will travel to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

Lance Wagner ran the ball 12 times for 56 yards and a score to lead the Rabbits rushing attack. Nick Marotzke added 84 rushing yards in the win while also throwing a 38-yard touchdown pass to Colby Wall.

Eagle Invitational
APPLE VALLEY — The Marshall Tigers went 1-1 on the opening night of the Eagle Invitational on Friday, defeating Hopkins 2-0 (25-11, 25-16) before a taking Class AAA No. 1-ranked Eagan to a third set where Eagan held on for a 2-1 (25-20, 21-25) win.
“Against Eagan, taking them to the brink is what we were looking to do,” Marshall coach Dan Westby said. “They just made a couple more plays than us.”
Jordyn Hilgemann led Marshall with 12 kills against Eagan. Bria Morris added 10 kills in the loss, while Logan Sherman finished with eight kills and eight set assists.
Morris led the Tigers with nine kills against Hopkins. Hilgemann added four aces and nine digs in the win, while Emily Meier also recorded four aces.
Marshall will continue Eagle Invitational action today.
“All of the teams up here are very good teams,” Westby said. “We like the fact that we can see what we’re capable of doing.”

MONTEVIDEO — Marshall went on the road and earned a 5-2 win over Montevideo on Friday.
The Tigers took three of the four singles matches.
Leah Matzner earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Emily Brace in No. 2 singles. Lexi Moat added a 6-3, 7-5 win over Mathea Jorgenson, while Mariah Bergjord defeated Lauren Dehne 6-1, 6-2.
Regan Loft and Leah Schaefer picked up a 1-6, 7-6, 10-8 win over Kristin DeJong and Annie Marquardt in doubles action while Danielle Ewing and Maddy Bednarek added a point by defeating Kaylee Pauling and Kylie Cobb 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.
Marshall will travel to Redwood Valley on Monday.
