YOUTH SOCCER ROUNDUP: Marshall 12U boys, 14U girls pick up victories over New Ulm

MARSHALL – The Marshall 12U boys and 14U girls soccer teams earned a pair of victories over New Ulm, with the boys team winning 9-2 and the girls team winning 4-0.

Boys 12U

Marshall 12U boys maintained its lead in their division with a decisive 9-2 victory over the coed New Ulm team.

Daymien Boogaard led with four goals while Gavin Falde and Isaiah Argueta each had two and Lincoln DeGroot added one. Goalies Karsten Springborg and Kaiden Pringle, along with the tough defense, were able to limit New Ulm’s goals.

Marshall has one remaining home game on Friday at 6:30 at the Marshall Middle School and two away games in Fairmont and New Ulm. They need to win all three games to stay in first place and advance to the state championship tournament.

Girls 14U

The Marshall 14U girls team fought hard to earn a 4-0 victory over New Ulm on Tuesday evening. Anna DeGroot led the way with two goals while Brenna Foster and Kennedy Drake each added one. The team has 3 regular season games remaining with a double header this Saturday in New Ulm against MN Rush Soccer Club.
