PREP BASEBALL: Tomahawk Conference announces All-Conference, All-Academic teams

MARSHALL – The Tomahawk Conference recently announced their All-Conference and All-Academic teams for baseball and a few Wabasso players made the list.

Leading the way for the Rabbits on the All-Conference team was Ryan Liebl. Joining the senior are Springfield’s Decker Scheffler, Isaac Fink, Mason Rummel, Henry Scheitel and Mitchell Leonard, New Ulm Cathedral’s Josh Seidl, Aaron Portner, Chris Knowles and Sam Knowles, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s Dylan Maiers, Elijah Stifter and Nathan Schultz, Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Jace Marotz, Sleepy Eye’s Jacob Berg and Landon Strong, Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Nick Labat and GFW’s Devon Schwarzrock.

Leading the Honorable Mention team was Wabasso’s Lance Wagner. Joining him is NUC’s Alex Hillesheim and Mark Schommer, MVL’s Teddy Giefer, Franklin Selvey and Mason Cox, Sleepy Eye’s Matthew Sellner and Kadon Strong, Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Spencer Hoffman and Dallas Bauer and GFW’s Quinn Bleick.

Scheffler was named the Player of the Year while Springfield’s Brandon Wilhelmi was named the Coach of the Year.

All-Academic team

Leading the way on the All-Academic team for Wabasso was Sam Rabenberg, Will Carlson and Ty Altermatt. Joining them are BLHS’s Braden McColley and Nicholas Taylor, GFW’s Quinn Bleick, Devon Schwarzrock and Dominic Johnson, NUC’s Mark Schommer, Alex Hillesheim and Ethan Mixdorf, Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s John Luu Mathiowetz, MVL’s Leyton Brau, Caleb Carlovsky, Mason Cox, Theodore Giefer, Jace Marotz, Matthew Rieger, William Sanders, Connor Schaper and Derek Weisensel, Sleepy Eye’s Matthew Sellner and Kadon Strong and Springfield’s Elijah Kirschstein, Mitchell Buerkle, Nolan Hovland, Ivan Hovland, Isaac Fink, Brody Sturm and Decker Scheffler.
