SMSU TRACK AND FIELD: Mustangs have strong day in Collegeville

COLLEGEVILLE – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s and men’s track & field teams had a strong showing on Saturday at the CSB/SJU Invite.

For the women’s team, Rebecca Mantueffel set a facility record to win the weight throw with a toss of 17.81 meters. She also placed second in the shot put with a mark of 13.11m.

Denitsa DoBreva had a big day with a school record time of 9.55 in the 60 meter hurdles to finish fourth overall.

Connor Wigand set a persona best toss of 16.35m in the weight throw to finish in fourth place.

Adarius Gallon and Isaiah Nelson finished third and fourth in the long jump with marks of 6.17m and 6.16m.

Southwest Minnesota State will have its final tune-up before the NSIC Championships next Friday at the South Dakota State Last Chance Meet.
