PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall wrestling takes home pair of wins over Luverne, Pipestone Area

PIPESTONE — Fresh off last week’s insertion into the Class A rankings, the No. 11-ranked Marshall Tigers didn’t want to give up their spot in the polls. The Tigers season remains unblemished after recording a 75-0 win over Luverne and topping Pipestone Area 71-6 on Tuesday night.

It was a milestone evening for a pair of Tigers. Senior Jackson Hughes recorded the 75th win of his career, while junior Noah Jensen reached 60 career wins.

Marshall recorded six pins in the shut-out win over Luverne from Dylan Louwagie, Hsa Law Eh, Conner Roth, Lucas Hodges, Grant Louwagie and Zach Stahl.

Hughes picked up a win at 152 by technical fall, while Jensen added a major decision.

Marshall recorded another five pins in the 71-6 win over Pipestone Area, as Hsa Khee Lar, Roth, Hughes, Stahl and Zack Felcyn each scored six points toward the team total.

Louwagie and Jensen added major decisions, while Grant Louwagie won by decision.

Marshall (12-0) will travel to Mountain Lake on Thursday for a dual against the Windom/Mountain Lake Cobras.

Romell Horton scored a game-high 22 points in the win to lead DB.

Five players scored in double digits, led by Lydia Sussner’s 26 points. She added eight rebounds, eight assists and six steals.

Morgan Kockelman added 14 points in the win, while Morgan Hennen finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Katie Krieger scored 17 points to lead KMS.
