2018 Marshall Independent All-Area Football First Team
POY: Cooper Hansen, Sr.
Bentley Boike, Sr., Dawson-Boyd
The senior led the area in rushing yards with 2,071 while also leading the team in both rushing touchdowns (22) and tackles (54). Boike also recorded two total sacks.
Cole Sanow,
Jr., Minneota
Sanow was second in the area in rushing yards (1,442), but led the team in rushing touchdowns (25) and receptions (19). The junior also recorded 229 receiving yards and 54 tackles.
Carter Hansen, Sr., RTR
Hansen led the area in receptions (66), receiving yards (1,227), receiving touchdowns (16) and interceptions (7) and was second on the team in tackles with 114.
Bryce Paulsen,
Sr., Marshall
Paulsen led the Tigers in rushing yards (864), rushing touchdowns (13), passing yards (856) and passing touchdowns (13). The Marshall quarterback and cornerback also recorded two interceptions in his senior season.
Yahya Black, Jr., Marshall
The Marshall junior was third on the team in tackles at 59 and led the area in total sacks with 10.
Elijah Sterner,
Sr., Lakeview
Sterner led the team in rushing yards with 748 while also recording nine rushing touchdowns. The senior also led the area in tackles with 128 while recording two total sacks.
Andrew Quade, Sr., WWG
Quade led the team in rushing yards with 854 and in rushing touchdowns (10). He also was second in the area in receptions (45) and receiving yards (725) while recording 70 tackles and three interceptions.
Cole VanOverbeke,
Sr., Minneota
VanOverbeke led the team and was second in the area in total sacks with 7.5 and was fourth on the team with 55 tackles in his senior season with the Vikings.
Sawyer Otto,
Jr., TMB
Otto led the team in nearly every category, including rushing yards (844), rushing touchdowns (11), passing yards (872) and passing touchdowns (8) in his junior season with the Panthers.
Justin Benda,
Sr., MCC
The MCC senior was second on the team in rushing yards (621) and rushing touchdowns (11) while also recording 31 receptions, 479 receiving yards and 58 tackles.

Fredrickson led the Knights to a 7-3 overall record in 2018 and a second straight state tournament appearance.

Payton Hess, Jr.
RTR
Hess was second on the team in receptions (32), receiving yards (483) and receiving touchdowns (5) in his junior season for the Knights.
Jace Paplow, Jr.
WWG
Paplow was third on the team in receptions (15), but made his impact on the defensive end, leading the team and was second in the area with 121 tackles.
Trey Steinbach, Jr.
Marshall
Steinbach led the team in tackles with 69 while also recording two total sacks in his junior season with the Tigers.
Isaac Schmitt, Sr.
Marshall
Schmitt was second on the Tigers in total sacks at 4.5, which was good enough for sixth in the area.
Thomas Hennen, Sr.
Minneota
Hennen made a big impact on both sides of the ball for the Vikings this season. The senior led the team in passing yards (1,066) and passing touchdowns (10) while also recording 223 receiving yards. On defense, he was tied for second in the area in interceptions (5).
Jake Lee, Sr.
Dawson-Boyd
Lee led the team in passing yards (1,465) and passing touchdowns (20), with both marks being good enough for second in the area for the
senior.
Logan Sussner, Jr.
Minneota
Sussner was fourth on the team in receiving yards (221) while also leading the team in receiving touchdowns (5) and was tied for second on the team with six total sacks.
Mason Woldt, Sr.
MCC
Woldt led the team in rushing touchdowns with 14 and in passing yards (1,274) as well as passing touchdowns (10) in his senior season with the Rebels.
Teagan Peschges, Sr.
MCC
Peschges made his impact on defense by leading the team in tackles with 118, which was good enough for third in the area. He also recorded two total sacks.
Keaton Schuelke, Sr.
Dawson-Boyd
Schuelke led the team in receptions (20) and receiving yards (503), a mark good enough for fifth in the area. The senior also tied for second on the team in receiving touchdowns (4).
Ty Lipinski, Sr.
Minneota
Lipinski recorded 53 total tackles for the Vikings while also tying for third in the area with six total sacks.

Greeman led the team in receptions (36) and receiving yards (486) and was tied for second in the area in receiving
touchdowns (6).
Carter Sneller, Jr.

Sneller led the team in nearly every category, including receptions (20), yards (318), receiving touchdowns (3), tackles (60) and interceptions (4).

Wabasso
Carlson led the team in receptions (39) and in receiving yards (554) and also recorded two touchdowns.
Danny Blankenship, Sr.
MCC
Blankenship led the team in receiving yards (554) and was second on the team in receptions (29). He also had two
interceptions.
Jon Lucero, Sr.
RTR
Lucero was third on the team in total sacks this season,
recording three for the Knights.
Colton Husby, Sr.
Dawson-Boyd
Husby was second on the team in rushing yards (579), rushing touchdowns (10) as well as
receptions (17) and receiving yards (290).
Trevor Eisfeld, Jr.
TMB
Eisfeld led the team in tackles (94) and also recorded three total sacks and six rushing touchdowns in his junior
season.
Tyler Sayre, Jr.
Canby
Sayre was second on the team and fifth in the area in receptions (37) while also recording 316 receiving yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Loe was second on the team in rushing touchdowns (5) but made his impact through the air, leading the team in passing yards (1,188) and passing touchdowns (9).

Fischer was second on the team in total sacks with five while tying for eighth in the area in tackles with 96.

Fischer recorded 18 tackles,
