PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall swimming defeats Montevideo

MONTEVIDEO — The Marshall swimming and diving team defeated Montevideo 94-80 on Tuesday.

Marshall swept the top-three finishes in the 200 individual medley. Emma Beavers won at 2:37.60, followed by Paige Milstead (2:40.26) and Reagan Brandt (2:43.53).

Nyssa Bentz won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.62 seconds. Kaylie Stucke (27.59 seconds) and Elsa Black (28.69 seconds) finished second and third, respectively.

Reagan Brandt also finished first in diving with a score of 154.95 points.

Lydia Hurst won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.89.

Hailey Brandt placed second in the 100 freestyle at 57.89 seconds, followed by Hurst in third at 59.13 seconds. Hailey Brandt added a win in the 500 freestyle (5:43.03), followed by Alli Kopitski (5:57.33) in second and Holly Netzley (6:30.02) in third.

Marshall’s 200-yard medley relay team (Stucke, Hailey Brandt, Bentz and Hurst) won with a time of 2:02.00. The same four swimmers also won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.37.

EDGERTON — Russell-Tyler-Ruthton ended its regular season with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-11) sweep over Edgerton.

Haley Muenchow and Kylea Baartman led RTR with eight kills apiece.

Mckinley Schreurs added 10 digs and 27 set assists in the win.

RTR (16-9) opens Section 3A Tournament action hosting Lac qui Parle Valley on Monday.

ORTONVILLE — Yellow Medicine East defeated Ortonville 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-11) on Tuesday.

Meeghen Dahlager led YME with 12 kills and eight digs.

Mackenzie Dyrdahl added 11 kills in the win, while Alli Steffen recorded six kills and 11 digs.

YME (19-5) will host either Russell-Tyler-Ruthton or Lac qui Parle Valley on Oct. 26 in Section 3A Tournament action.
