MARSHALL – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s and men’s cross country teams return to action today competing at the Augsburg University Invite at Hyland Greens Golf and Learning Center in Bloomington.

The women’s 6K race starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K race at 10:30 a.m.

SMSU opened its season on Aug. 31 competing at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The SMSU women’s team finished in 16th place out of 25 teams, while the men’s team placed 19th among 23 teams.

Kayla Jansky was the SMSU women’s team top finisher, placing 105th out of 277 runners in the 5K race with a time of 20:17. On the men’s side, Dylan Pierson finished the 7K race with a time of 23:42 to place 96th out of 266 runners.
