PIPESTONE — Pipestone Area defeated Marshall 13-1 in five innings in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Marshall recorded only three hits in the loss.

Lenei Estrada had a double and an RBI to lead the Tigers.

TYLER — Minneota/Canby defeated Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 7-1 in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Monday.

The Vikings got back-to-back home runs from Emily Pohlen and Sydney Larson in the fourth inning. Pohlen finished with two RBI on two hits in the win, while Larson added two RBI on three hits.

Brooklyn Nelson went the distance from the circle, recording six strikeouts in the win.

RTR scored its only run in the first inning, when Makenzie Buchert drove in Cora Alderson.

Audra Buysse led the Vikings offense, going 3 for 3 with a triple and double. She also drove in four runs and scored twice.

Sydney Larson went the distance from the circle and struck out four batters to get the win.

Courtney went 2 for 3 and scored a run in the loss.

Minneota/Canby (5-3) hosts Dawson-Boyd today while RTR travels to Dawson-Boyd on Thursday.

TRACY — Murray County Central defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 10-2 in nonconference action on Monday.

Montana Beckman finished 1 for 3 with a double and three RBI to lead the Rebels. Laney Brown, Lily Schmal and Courtney Schmitz added two hits apiece in the win.

Amanda Muecke struck out seven over seven innings to record the victory.

Brooklyn Ludeman and Mariah Mayer each recorded two hits in the TMB loss.

MCC travels to Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian on Thursday while TMB will host Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Thursday.

Granite Run Invite

GRANITE FALLS — Two area schools competed at the Granite Run Invite on Monday.

Lac qui Parle Valley won the girls event with a team score of 165, followed by Yellow Medicine East in second place at 257 and third-place Central Minnesota Christian at 274.

Dawson-Boyd, MACCRAY, Renville County West, Community Christian School of Willmar and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg fielded incomplete teams.

Madison Ohliger led YME with a round of 56. Sam Anderson added a 61, followed by Abby Jaenisch at 68. Anna Viergutz completed the YME team score with a 72.

Ella Mork carded a 49 to lead Dawson-Boyd and fish fifth as an individual. Elly Stratmoen added a 52, while Rachel Lund carded a 53.

LQPV also won the boys event with a team score of 170. CCS was three strokes back at 173, while YME finished with a third-place 184. MACCRAY took fourth at 203, followed by CMCS in fifth at 220 and sixth-place RCW at 231. Dawson-Boyd and KMS fielded incomplete boys teams.

Sam Ohliger paced YME with a 40, the fourth-best individual round at the event. Ben Rillo added a 43, followed by Jacob Peterson at 48 and Erik Kosak with a 53.

Tyler Lund carded a round of 36 to lead Dawson-Boyd, also tying Brett Reid of CCS for low round of the invite. Seth Stratmoen added a 47 for DB, while Collin Swedzinski finished with a 48.

Stoney Creek Invite

RENVILLE — Two area schools competed at the Stoney Creek Invite on Monday.

The Yellow Medicine East boys finished second as a team at 192, while Dawson-Boyd fielded an incomplete boys team.

Sam Ohliger tied for second individually with a round of 41 to lead YME. Ben Rillo added a 47, while Jacob Peterson and Erik Kosak finished with 52s.

Tyler Lund led Dawson-Boyd with a 43, which put him tied for seventh as an individual. Seth Stratmoen and Collin Swezinski added 50s.

On the girls side, Lac qui Parle Valley led the way with a 177, followed by YME (177) and Central Minnesota Christian (268). Dawson-Boyd and four other schools had incomplete team scores.

Madison Ohliger led YME with a 57. Five strokes back was Sam Anderson at 62, while Abby Jaenisch finished with a 63. Anna Viergutz completed the YME team score with a 66.

Rachel Lund carded a round of 50 to lead Dawson-Boyd. Ella Mork added a 54, while Elly Stratmoen finished at 55.
