AREA BASEBALL: Twins Community Fund approves $10,000 grant for dugout renovation at The Ballpark in Lamberton
MINNEAPOLIS – The Twins Community Fund board of directors announced the approval of a $10,000 grant to renovate the dugouts at The Ballpark in Lamberton. The grant was submitted through a combined effort of the Lamberton Area Baseball Association and the Red Rock Central School District. The grant will cover roughly half of the total cost of the project with the remainder of the funds for the project coming from the Lamberton Area Baseball Association and the Red Rock Central School District. The project will renovate both dugouts and will include a new roof, new cement, new benches, new helmet racks and new fencing that will allow two openings for players to enter the field.
The Lamberton Area Baseball Association along with the Red Rock Central School District and the Westbrook Walnut Grove School District are entering their 12th summer partnering to bring baseball to youth from the Red Rock Central and Westbrook Walnut Grove School Districts. This summer there will be over 75 participants in the Lamberton Long Sox youth baseball program. These participants will range in age from 8 to 17 years old. The Ballpark in Lamberton annually hosts over 80 practices and games during the months of April thru August.
