YOUTH HOCKEY ROUNDUP: MAHA Squirt teams compete in the District 4 Tournament

MARSHALL – Two more MAHA teams competed in the District 4 Tournament over the weekend with the Squirt A team finishing fourth while the Squirt B team finished third in the consolation 3-on-3 tournament.

Squirt A

The Squirt A hockey team finished its season going 1-2 in the District 4 tournament. The Tigers started with a 4-2 win over Redwood Falls and a 4-2 loss to Luverne in opening play before falling to Luverne in the third place game 7-2.

Owen Renslow led Marshall scorers with four goals over the weekend while Rickey Crum added three goals. Koda Peterson pitched in one goal while Brenden Weller and Carson Kopitski helped out with two and one assists respectively. Nathan Lenz finished the weekend with 84 saves.

Squirt B

Marshall’s Squirt B team went 0-2 in the District 4 tournament, but took third place in the consolation 3-on-3 tournament, going 1-3. The Tigers fell to Windom 15-1 and Worthington 16-0 to be placed in the 3-on-3 tournament.

Austin Husby scored the lone goal for the Squirt B team while Carson Becker had 63 saves in the first two games.

Pee Wee B

The Pee Wee B team fell to Morris-Benson 7-4.
