In case you haven’t noticed it, life is a bundle of "Wows!"
It hardly seems necessary to remind us of these Wows!, but we sometimes get so caught up in everyday happenings that we don’t respond in someway to these special times.
Early on, one of those Wows! for me was seeing a flax field in full bloom. I don’t think there are too many of those fields around anymore, but once seen, the field is never forgotten. The blazing blue flowers only last for about a day or so, however, they plant a lasting memory. Wow!
A recent wine gave me a Wow! The wine was Apothic Crush Soft Red Blend, and it’s a blend of Petite Sirah and Pinot Noir. It’s an amazing wine with gentle tastes of red cherries, raspberry along with hints of vanilla. Have a sip! It will lead to a Wow!
Last week a local concert in the park provided a Wow time. A local band was playing and the park was packed with people enjoying the music and children dancing to the beat. It was a beautiful summer evening weather with folks talking and laughing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the park so filled with people. When you combine a perfect summer evening with good old music, folks reuniting and nodding theirs heads to the beat of the music, it’s a Wow!
The band played the song "Jolene" to give respect and honor the late Dolly Parton. A special time.
During a recent hike along a local park hiking path, I was reminded that Mother Nature never ceases to provide a Wow moment. In the silent deep woods, there were birds singing, eagles soaring above me, so many beautiful wild flowers and the soft sound of the breeze flowing through the leaves of the trees.
What an awesome experience! Always try, in whatever way you can, to embrace nature, and to see and hear its voice. It never disappoints.
Did you see the lunar eclipse? I’m sure you either saw it in real time or in pictures. It’s just a reminder that there’s a whole lot of awesomeness that surrounds us.
Now, I think it’s time to make and enjoy a Martini. This classic gin and dry vermouth cocktail is always a Wow companion.
