So many questions, so little time

To the editor: Why are the United States Congress and President actively resisting a cease fire in Gaza? Why is revenge so easily justified and sold to people as a righteous cause even though the death toll surpasses 13,300 people in Gaza, 5,500 of which are children? How do we as a nation ignore innocent suffering and growing displacement of 2.2 million families since Oct. 7? Why is raising such questions portrayed as antisemitic? Make intersection more safe

To the editor: I agree with Denise Lee’s op-ed about the intersection of County Road 33 and Highway 23. It has always been dangerous, and while I agree with her that a change needs to happen, I think a stoplight is best, one with “prepare to stop when lights are flashing” signs perhaps on both County Road 33 and Highway 23. If I’m not mistaken, County Road 33 is under Lyon County’s jurisdiction, and Highway 23 is under the state. The city of Marshall probably doesn’t have say in what happens to that intersection, and while I don’t live in that area anymore, I still want ...

Unsafe intersection needs attention of city council

To the editor: I am writing to express my deep concern about the ongoing dangers posed by the intersection of County Road 33 and Highway 23 in Marshall. This intersection has witnessed several accidents, and I fear that it is only a matter of time until a tragic fatality occurs. The hazardous nature of this intersection is further exacerbated during adverse weather conditions, such as fog and snow, making it even more perilous for commuters and residents alike. Please do research on sales tax extension referendum

To the editor: Close your eyes and put yourself back to your youth. Do you remember the feeling of water splashing all around you as you fly down a waterslide at full speed after waiting in line for what felt like forever? The excitement flooding through you right as you crash into the water at the end and jump out of the pool to do it all over again. Here are the real numbers on Marshall’s debt

To the editor: In the Oct. 28th edition there was a letter to the editor from George Falcone. In the first part of his letter he stated that “Marshall has a $100 million, or so debt already.” An Editor’s note was at the bottom of that letter that stated Marshall’s debt was actually $54,228,890 according to the city website. After reading this letter I decided to check the numbers for myself. I contacted the Lyon County Auditor and asked her to send me the Dec. 31, 2022 document that has to be sent into the state showing all outstanding debt for all communities and ...
