Boettger offers more experience in District 15 race

2 min read

Among the things we consider when choosing who to vote for is experience of the candidates. The gap between the experience levels of our two choices for Senate District 15 might be the largest in history.

I'm sure Braxton Seifert is a nice young man. He is 21 years old and has done some stuff. I have nothing against 21-year-old guys. I was one once.

Andrea Boettger has an amazing resume with vast array of experiences. There is not room to list all her credentials. Here is the Cliff's Notes version:

Andrea has worked in hospitality, banking and finance. Currently she manages a vital non-profit in New Ulm as executive director of Turner Hall. There she has to make a payroll, maintain a staff, and report to the Board. Andrea is New Ulm City Council President, having gained the trust of the voters and her fellow Council members.

Andrea currently serves on the board of directors for the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities where she co-chairs the committee on Taxation and Local Government Aid. She is also the Vice Chair for Region Nine Development Commission, where she chairs the Legislative and Communications committee.

Andrea is also the mother of a high school son and college daughter. On a personal level, I have introduced Andrea to farmer friends. She is a good listener, which is not common nowadays.

If Andrea was elected, she would immediately become an important voice for rural Minnesota at the Legislature. If Braxton was elected, I'm sure the Republican leadership would find things for him to do.

Vote for Boettger on Nov. 3. Vote for experience and leadership.
