To the editor:

I urge everyone to make the sensible decision to support year-round E15. Supporting E15 would be especially meaningful now, as corn farmers face the most dire economic conditions they’ve seen this century. As MCGA has noted for years, ensuring permanent year-round E15 is one of the most meaningful steps Congress could take to bolster family corn farms and rural economies.

Unfortunately, instead of passing legislation for a nationwide, year-round E15 fix, lawmakers established a new E15 Rural Domestic Energy Council and tasked it with developing legislative solutions to “address the crisis facing our nation’s farmers and refiners.” Thankfully, Minnesota has strong representation on the Council with members including Congressman Brad Finstad and Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach.

Let’s support our farming community by supporting year-round E15.
