To the Editor:

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. Gratitude is a daily exercise for me however, I am even more focused on remembering things to be grateful for in this season of thanks. I am extremely grateful to the Marshall Police Department. Any thought of interaction with the police brings forth images of drug violence, domestic abuse, and other criminal acts. We forget how much we rely on the police for the many tasks completed each day, in addition to the more highly publicized criminal acts, that keep us all safe.

I am so grateful for the time and attention they have given to my family in addressing the needs of my elderly mother and helping us to find a missing family member. The Marshall Police provided support for my family in our time of need as if it was their own family members in need. Thank you to all but most especially Officer Quinn and Officer Valerie Peichel for their support. And a most special heartfelt thanks to Sgt. Jason Buysse.
