Biden a good man with a steady hand on the rudder

To the editor:

Re: Feb. 20 Farm country supports Fischbach

I, too, live in “farm country,” Mr. Coulter. I am writing in support of Joe Biden. His steady hand on the rudder of our country has led us through the aftermath of a pandemic that has crippled the world’s economy. Inflation is high, as it is for the rest of the world. However, in 2023, large wage increases averaging 20.5% outpaced inflation increase of 19% over the same time period. The unemployment rate is again as low as it was pre-COVID. The stock market reflects confidence in America’s continuing stability and expanding economy. As a matter of fact, America’s economy has grown 7% as compared to 3% for the Euro zone countries since the pandemic.

But even more than good management skills, I appreciate the fact we have as our leader a decent, fundamentally good man who makes decisions based on what he feels is best for all of the country. He isn’t threatening to withhold funding from red states or calling out for crowds to beat up reporters who aren’t ‘nice’ to him. He isn’t making fun of veterans or disabled people. He isn’t urging Russia to attack our allies.

I am writing in response to your statement, Mr. Coulter, but I am not the first. I think maybe your daily reading of letters to the editor is perhaps not as regular as you think.
