Electrical grid will be under tremendous strain

Electrical grid will be

under tremendous strain

To the editor:

Re: Xcel Energy shuts down Sherburne County Unit 2 coal unit as grid reliability worsens

After a years-long battle, Xcel Energy finally shut down the “Sherco” coal plant on New Year’s Eve. It was capable of powering 25% of Minnesota’s homes on an annual hourly basis.

What prompted this stroke of brilliance-California models or another one of Walz hair brained ideas? Maybe the folks who are in charge of Excel live on another planet after looking at the forecast, our electrical grid is going to be under a tremendous strain. Do they have a back up plan?

More hairbrained news; In addition to the desecration of our once proud state flag and being replaced by something that has no relevance, the Legislature, by the way completely controlled by the Democrats had decreed that no high school teams can use Native American nicknames or logos. In one little town where the Braves is used, the community does not have the million dollars it would take to replace jerseys, scoreboards and bleachers having Braves logos.

Here is a novel idea, maybe the Legislature should focus on the massive food fraud schemes, crime in the Metro, getting broadband to Greater Minnesota, etc. How about working together instead ramming partisan bills that are not productive?
