On behalf of the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, we fully support the extension of the sales tax that will go towards the development of the new Marshall Aquatics Center. At our June Board meeting, the Board voted 15-0 in full support of this initiative.
The Board's decision making with this vote was clear. A new aquatics center in Marshall is seen as an amenity for not only the residents in Marshall but for others to make the trip to Marshall and take advantage of the many other offerings our great city has to offer.
Additionally, this is one more amenity that we can brag about and showcase when we tour around new families as they make a choice of moving here.
We encourage the community to vote yes on Nov. 7 to extend the sales tax that already built the Red Baron Arena and the MERIT Center, which have been impactful to the businesses in the city. A new aquatics center will have that same impact.
