The Durham report and the news vacuum

To the editor:

Since the long awaited Durham report was released on Monday afternoon, I decided to give our local paper an extra day to report what should have been a major news story. The Durham report was started over four years ago and not one shred of evidence was produced that President Trump had colluded with the Russians.

Where are the screaming headlines shouting; “Trump did not collude with the Russians”? The same goes for most mainstream television; zero or very little coverage unless you tune into Fox or Newsmax.

The Durham report concluded that the FBI had totally botched the investigation and was complicit in rigging the 2020 election by spreading false information as well as with holding information that would have shed a negative light on Biden.

Where is real journalism? Certainly not in the New York Times or Washington Post; both winners of the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting on Russian interference by the Trump campaigns. Both papers should be required to issue an apology to the Trump family and give back their respective award.
