Election outcome disappointing
To the editor:
Is everyone in Minnesota all happy and excited over the outcome of the latest election?
One would have thought that after the past couple of years of riots, lootings, property destruction, shootings, carjackings, among other crimes, misuse of emergency powers that closed most small businesses and churches (many permanently), high fuel prices and so much more mayhem, the voting public would have decided to make a few changes.
Unfortunately, not one change in the governor, attorney general, secretary of state and state auditor offices. I say “unfortunately”, because there will be no improvement of our circumstances as Minnesota citizens.
All branches of government are now held by one party, including the top four offices.
Are these people going to follow the principles of good government that have been laid out in our Constitution or will they be following an agenda to further increase the power of government over the people? Is this the government that we envisioned when we went to the polls last month? Will the lives of the people improve now that we have a one-party government? If the past two years have been any indication, I highly doubt it.
I see no happy ending with this scenario.
The people of Minnesota, regardless of political party affiliation, will be the biggest losers.
